Miners

It all began when a group of miners where working in the San José mine. Suddenly the mine colapsed and the miners got trapped. At first people thought that they where dead, but 17 days later the miners send a message trought a hole that was made during the search operations, it says "we are fine at the shelter all 33", All kinds of rescue companies arrived to the place, even the NASA! they worked very hard and finally all miners where rescued, but it was sixtynine days suffering experience.

I hate the way that media and publicity has turned this tragic events, making them into pure marketing. As if that were not enought, the nationals chanels made some kind of "reality show" when they where rescued.

None of this events had happened if the the goberment had payed attention on supervising the mines and monitor the working conditions that are minimal to ensure a safe work.

This is the price that people has to pay due to payoffs that mining coorporations and enterprices do with the local goberments and administration. According to Sernagiomin studies, the 70% of mining in Chile should be closed becose the working places does not fulfill the minimal conditions that mining requires.

A traggedy indeed, i think this kind of things shouldn't happen , but injustice exists everywhere.
